Ventura County Beach House

This guest residence residence is located on a beach front lot in Ventura County. Originally built in 1962 the main house did not provide enough space for the client and only had clear views to the ocean from the 2nd floor. The client requested a two-car garage, additional storage space for a boat and more living space that could be used as part of the main house or as a separate unit if guests were visiting. The resulting design provides the client a secure two-car garage, a 12′ high covered spot for a boat, and a living space which is elevated to offer views to the ocean. Materials were selected to compliment the modern design and withstand the oceanside elements. The exterior cladding is a combination of cement lap siding and zinc panels.
